Teaching/ learning Aids
Teaching/learning aids are all tools, instruments, materials, equipment, and devices that used in and out side classrooms to improve the teaching and learning process. It can be useful to:
l reinforce what you are saying,
l ensure that your point is understood,
l signal what is important/essential,
l enable students to visualise or experience something that is impractical to see or do in real life,
l engage students’ other senses in the learning process,
l Facilitate different learning styles.
The cone is based on the relationships of various instructional experiences to reality.The importance of Dale's cone of experience is helping teachers make decisions about resources or activities. Using their knowledge of the cone, teachers can ask themselves several questions about the potential value of a resource to student learning.
